A few of our favourite things in Cornwall in July

As the sun starts to make more of a frequent appearance in Cornwall and local businesses adjust and pivot to this new way of being, we thought we would share the love for a few of our favourite local shops and places to visit this month.

Mr Pineapple’s Drive Cinema

Brand new for this summer is Mr Pineapple’s Drive in Cinema, with nine cult films, fabulous food and live music throughout July and August. With the likes of Dough Selecta, Kern of Kernow, El Huichol and From This Day Shakes, prepare for an evening to remember with delicious food to boot. Grab yourself a ticket now before they sell out.

Da Bara Bakery

Just up the road from Trevessa is the fabulous Da Bara Bakery, full to the brim with bakery delights and goodies and fab coffee. And, the best news is that even if you can’t make it to Cornwall this year, they now send their famous cinnamon buns and bread by post across the UK.

Nancarrow Farm Lobster Nights, Farm Picnics and more

The amazing team at Nancarrow Farm have launched a series of Farm Picnics, Lobster Nights and Farm Suppers over the coming weeks. The food is always divine and the surroundings are just idyllic. But hurry, as their events sell out super quick.

EW Wines

Very close to Da Bara Bakery, Ellis Wharton Wines are an independent wine merchant with the most fantastic selection of wines, spirits, ciders and mixers. So whatever your favourite tipple, they will be sure to have something to wet your whistle.

Jam Jar Cafe

The first Jam Jar Cafe started out on Broad Street in Newquay, and the lovely Jess has now expanded to Crantock with the Jam Jar Kitchen, a new alfresco pizzeria. Pop along for wood-fired pizzas, amazing cakes and much more.

Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens

One of our favourite gardens in Cornwall, the glorious Tremenheere Sculpture gardens have re-opened. Go on a sculpture treasure hunt and soak up the stunning views whilst you are there. Little ones will love all the different areas to explore whilst you can fill up your culture cup and visit the cafe and gallery whilst you’re there.

Alice in Scandiland Shop

Alice’s shop is a veritable treasure trove of interior delights and lifestyle loveliness, it is very rare that we can resist visiting her Lostwithiel shop or her online store without buying something! Much of the artwork and other beautiful trinkets in the house come from Alice’s shop. Be sure to check out her opening times on her instagram and in the meantime, head to her online shop for a browse.

Prawn on the Lawn Pop-Up at Trerethern Farm

The fantastic seafood restaurant and fishmongers has just relocated to Trerethern farm for the summer. The freshest seafood and friendliest service, it’s a real treat. The fishmongers are open in Padstow.

Lakin and Boone

Another amazing independent shop, this time in Truro, is the family and lifestyle store Lakin and Boone. Located in the Lemon Street Market, they have a wealth of goodies and gifts for all. We love the gorgeous selection of toys and books. You can book an appointment to shop, check their instagram and facebook for the latest opening hours.

Potager Garden

Another one of Cornwall’s botanical delights is the Potager Garden, a truly beautiful haven that was brought back from years of neglect to become a little slice of heaven, with beautiful surroundings and an amazing cafe. Make sure to book a slot and check their opening times.
