The Hosts

Hosting the retreat will be Lucy Beckley and Katie Whittington.

Lucy Beckley is a writer, wanderer and wonderer. She’s worked in a range of roles in marketing and communications in the UK, Germany and Portugal and has a Masters in European Cultures. Her writing and poetry has appeared in a range of independent magazines and books. She is currently working on a novel and her first collection of poetry.

Katie Whittington is a writer, mother and freelance social media manager. She is working on a narrative non-fiction book about home, belonging and her experience of adoptive motherhood. She is also completing an MA in professional writing at Falmouth University.

Special guest

We are over the moon that Dr Georgina Green (George) will be joining us, offering a session to all writers and there will also be the opportunity for a one to one with her.

She works with emerging and unpublished fiction writers as a coach and developmental editor. She enjoys subtle points of craft and theories of story as much as any fiction editor, but she also knows that when it comes to writing, technique is only part of the story.

As part of the retreat George will host a workshop on navigating self-doubt as a writer and setting intentions for your time there, so you can feel nourished and supported.

If you take the chance for a one to one, you could use the time to get help with your plot, to dig into a point of craft or a character’s motivation, or to untangle something that has been holding you back in your writing life. The cost of the one to one will be at a special rate of £70 for a 90 minute session.
